CEDARBURG -?The Family Tree Learning Center in Cedarburg, the alleged site of sexual misconduct between an adolescent and several children who attended the facility. After police recived two reports of sexual contact, they met with parents over the weekend and discovered even more potential victims.

Police and human services are staying tight-lipped, considering it's an open investigation involving children.

Dr. Alice Swenson with Children's Hospital says the subject is tough, but it's one parents can't afford to ignore.

"I think it's important for parents to keep the line of communication open with their children," Swenson said.

She said that while we don't always hear about adolescents being the perpetrators, it's not unheard of. Regardless of age, the abuser is usually someone the child knows. And while there's no telltale sign something could be wrong, there are signals.

"Stress, anxiety, changes in toileting, sexualized behaviors," Swenson explained.

The key is to keep the conversation going. Make sure your kids know they can come to you, no matter what.

"The most important advice I can give to parents is to believe your child and to listen to them when they talk to you," Dr. Swenson added.

Police say they will investigate every report, provide support for the victims, and hold anyone responsible accountable.
